The Port of Houston is the largest port in the United States in foreign tonnage, and one of the largest ports in the world. The port has three major cargo terminals; Bayport, Texas City and Galveston. In addition to the three cargo terminals, there are eight other facilities that handle general cargo, bulk cargo, breakbulk, ethanol and petroleum coke.
The Port of Houston is also home to several refineries that process crude oil into gasoline, diesel fuel and other products that are used in everyday life. The Port of Houston is also a major gateway for imports from Asia and Latin America into the United States.
